By His Wounds We Are Made Beautiful
1. First, do we acknowledge the reality of our sin, the depths of its roots, and the ugliness of our hearts? Do we believe in a merciful God that extends undeserved grace towards us, desiring to heal us and make us whole in Christ?
2. If your answer is ‘yes’ to the questions above, take some time to pray David’s prayer from Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! See if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” If your answer is ‘no’, what is it that is preventing you from acknowledging your sin and trusting God?
3. What are the specific sins that God is revealing to you? Do you trust in His grace and believe that He loves you enough to bring it before Him in confession and repentance? And do you receive His forgiveness and the beauty and acceptance that it brings before a holy and righteous God?
