Only let your manner of life be worthy[a] of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel

Philippians 1:27

Thought

We discussed preaching the gospel in our recent small group Bible study. A pastor talked about the word 'preaching' in "preaching the gospel", and said that people easily misunderstood that by preaching one mainly used his mouth, i.e. to explain the gospel verbally to make others believe in the Lord.
This makes me recall this verse. Paul says that we should conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. This causes me to think whether we are living in worry and anxiety during the pandemic, or in peace, joy and gratitude by relying on the Lord. Also, are we busy caring for our own needs during these times, or are we taking note and taking care of those needy people around us? Like the teaching of Jesus on loving others as ourselves, we can let others see the great power of God on us even without saying anything.

Prayer

O Lord, please help us to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. May others see the great power of God on us and glory our Father God. Amen

最近一次小組查經，我們討論到關於傳福音。有一位牧師分享到傳福音的「傳」字很容易令我們誤解，覺得傳福音主要是靠用口傳，用說話講解福音使別人信主。
這令我想起這一段經文，保羅提到我們的行事為人要與基督的福音相稱，讓我思想到特別在這個疫情當中，我們是在活在憂慮、徬徨中，還是靠著主活在平安、喜樂、感恩中。再說我們在這段時間是在忙於自己的需要，還是在留意關心身邊有需要的人。就像耶穌教導我們愛人如己，不需用說話，別人也能在我們身上看到神的大能。
