8月19日靈修禱文|DEVOTION

August 19th, 2020

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Thought

When the prophet Habakkuk asked God why He allowed the savage act of the Chaldeans to be executed among the Israelis, he was still delighted in God despite his pain. When everything was one-sided towards the negatives, Habakkuk still believed that God was his only power to allow him to be as powerful as a deer in the days to come. When the pandemic slowed down in May, everyone was full of hopes. But the number of infections has risen again recently, everyone's mood sinks like a big rock. Do we actually look at the numbers to control our hope for the future, or should we continue to look up to God and rely our tomorrow to Him?

Prayer

Thank God for letting us to see your caring for your people over and over again in history. Pray that God will give us the confidence to rely on you so that you can become our shelter and refuge. Become our protection, because you are the true God who always exists. Amen!

哈巴谷書 3:17-19

思想

先知哈巴谷在質問上帝為什麼容讓迦勒底人的暴行施行在以色列人當中時，在痛苦中仍然以上帝為樂，當所有事情都是一面倒的傾向負面時，哈巴谷仍然深信上帝是他唯一的力量，使他在未來的日子能夠有力如母鹿一樣。在5月時疫情有放緩的績象時，大家都滿有盼望，但近來感染數字又再上升，大家的心情都像大石一般沉下去。究竟我們時看著數字去支配著對將來的盼望，還是繼續仰望神將明天交給祂呢？
