September 4th, 2020

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:28-31

Thought

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell". What is the most important reminder in here? Many parents and I are worried about the start of school in September. Everyone is hesitating to send their children back to school. However, set aside this hesitation, what we have in our hearts to make this decision is more important. I can say that I don’t want to send children back to school. This is okay, but the question is what is the belief in it? Do we fear and panic to a point of completely refusing to contact the world, without putting God’s peace in the heart to make decisions. This is a big question. Perhaps I decided to let my children back to school. This is also okay, but the question is that the decision is due to us having no peace at all in their studies, so there is only this way out? However, where is God in our hearts when we make this decision? We should always be reminded that the flesh is temporary. One day we will all leave, but the soul is more important because this is the promise of the present life and the future life. May the Lord Himself be your standard of all decisions.

Prayer

Lord! We pray that you guide our hearts only to you. Panic can easily occupy all of our hearts, but we pray that your own life can become what we totally rely on with our hearts. We thank you. Amen!

思想

那殺身體不能殺靈魂的，不要怕他們；唯有能把身體和靈魂都滅在地獄裡的，正要怕他。裡面提醒什麼是最重要? 我和很多家長都擔心九月份的子女開學。大家都擔心唔知好唔好送子女去返學。然而，送與不送是一回事，但心裡我們存著什麼去作這個決定是更加重要。我可以說，我不願意送仔女返學, This is ok, 問題是裡面帶著的信念是什麼? 驚慌惶恐到一個地步完全拒絕接觸世界，而心中沒有將神的平安放在心中作決定。這是一個大問題。或者，我決定願意送仔女返學，This is ok, 問題是出發點因為面對他們的學業完全沒有平安所以只有這一條出路呢? 然而，神在我們心中的位置是怎樣來作這一決定呢? 我們要時常被提醒身體是暫時的。有一天我們都會離開，但靈魂更加重要因為這是今生和來生的應許。但願主自己成為你做決定的所有準則。
