Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh.

Genesis 41:14

Thought

Joseph intrepreted the chief cupbearer's dream in the prison. He hoped that the cupbearer could help him leave the prison. Yet, the cupbearer forgot Joseph. Two years later, Pharaoh dreamt, but no one was able to interpret his dream. The cupbearer mentioned Joseph before Pharaoh, and he could finally get out of prison. It seems that it was the cupbearer's forgetfulness that made him spend two more years in prison needlessly. However, it was in fact God's plan and timing, so as to save the Israelites.

Over the past 6 months, we have been impacted by the pandemic. Many asked when the pandemic would be over. Though we don't know whether it will be over or not, just like Joseph didn't know whether he could leave the prison one day, however, we can learn from Joseph's faith and trust in God.

Prayer

O Lord! You tell us that you have made everything beautiful in its time. Although we cannot find out what you have done from the beginning to the end, please help us to look to you and trust you with faith, so that we won't stumble in this ever-changing world. Amen!

法老隨即差人去召約瑟，他們便急忙帶他出監，他就剃頭，刮臉，換衣裳，進到法老面前。

思想

約瑟在監裡為酒政解夢，他希望酒政能幫助他離開監牢，可惜酒政當時忘記了約瑟。過了兩年，當法老做夢，沒有人能為法老解這個夢，這時酒政對法老提起約瑟，約瑟終於可以離開監牢。看似因為酒政的健忘，使約瑟白白在監牢裡待多兩年。但其實這是神的計劃和時間，為要拯救以色列人。

在過去半年我們經歷到這個疫情的影響，很多人會問到底疫情幾時會完結。雖然我們不知道疫情會否完結，就像約瑟當日也不知道會否有離開監牢的一天。但讓我們可以學習到約瑟的信心和對神的倚靠。
