October 2nd, 2020

I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.

Thought

After more than half a year of the pandemic, many people have slowly adapted to this new normal, but there are more people still not used to this kind of isolated life. No matter what the circumstances are, the thanksgiving prayer to God from the poet can allow us to see the reality of God. He not only allows us to have eternal life, but also heals our body and soul. How do the disciples respond to God’s grace to us during difficult times? It is mentioned in the scriptures that we must sing praises to Him in any circumstances, praise his holy name. The purpose is to show God through the disciples, because His grace lasts for a lifetime and is sufficient for our lifetime. I hope that everyone can promulgate to others to have this grateful heart, to trust that the Lord will be with you even in difficulties.

Prayer

Thank God for giving us unconditional love, so that we can have the blessing and happiness of eternal life. We pray for Father God's guidance and help, so that we can share this grace with others, because you are faithful. Amen.

思想

在過了大半年的疫情，很多人已經慢慢適應這種新常態，有更多人仍然不習慣這種隔離的生活。無論如何的環境，從詩人對上帝感恩的禱告可以讓我們見到上帝的實在，祂不但讓我們有永生，亦醫治我們的身心靈。當在困難時門徒又怎樣回應上帝聯對我們的恩典呢？經文中提到我們無論在什麼境況裡都要歌頌祂，頌揚祂的聖名，目的是要透過門徒去章顯上帝，因為祂的恩典是一生之久，夠我們一生之用。盼望大家能將這份感恩之心傳開去，縱使在困難當中亦可靠主同在。
